For over a decade, Corri Smith has been running a branding boutique called Black Wednesday. She and her team have been operating solely on word-of-mouth referrals. Their clients are so genuinely pleased with the services they receive at BW that they tell all of their friends and family. Let that sink in.

Turning her personal style into a whole identity is very impressive to watch. Her home is painted black, her entire closet is full of nothing but black clothes, and her studio / workplace building is black. Black Wednesday isn’t just a cute name, it’s a lifestyle. Her office has (what I believe to be haunted) ventriloquist dolls, the forbidden Ouija boards, portal-creating mirrors facing each other, animal taxidermy, candles for days, and a ton of horror movie ephemera. It is Halloween in Corri’s world year-round. Though she is playful and whimsical, she is not a goth gimmick. She is smart as a whip and truly cares for the accounts her office works.

While she is open to a new client here and there, she doesn’t have to actively chase them down and often has to turn some away. She wants to give the businesses that come to her their deserved full attention. Her office is run like a tight ship; a tight ship with happy employees. It should be studied, but cannot be replicated. Black Wednesday is one of one.
